Introduction

10 the Best Beach Places Along The Central Vietnam Coast: A Journey To The Unforgettable Shores

Central Vietnam coastline, undiscovered by most of the travelers, holds the unpredictable mix of beautiful beaches, culture and atmosphere of its own.

It is a part of the country that more popular southern and northern regions often overshadow, but for people who make the trek into the heart of the country, the rewards are plentiful.

From the graceful beaches in Da Nang to the peaceful islands in Con Dao, Central Vietnam has a range of beach experiences that every traveler will fall in love with.

These 10 beach spots on the Central Vietnamese Coast, whether you are a solo wanderer, a family seeking respite or a couple in search of romance, are sure to give you memories for a lifetime.

10 The Best Beach Spots Along the Central Vietnamese Coast: Unforgettable Shores

1. Da Nang Beaches: My Khe & Non Nuoc Beach

When I arrived in Da Nang for the first time, I was not expecting to discover such a romantic blend of city energy and nature.

My Khe Beach: There is no way I will be able to visit Da Nang and not head out to My Khe Beach, which is conveniently only a short drive away from the city center.

With its broad, clean stretch of golden sand, My Khe Beach was everything I wanted, soothing and unassuming, but lively in its own way.

As the sun rose and blanketed the water in golden light, the beach sprang to life, with locals doing tai chi and tourists swimming in the morning.

Several kilometers down the coast, Non Nuoc Beach is a more serene refuge a little less frenetic than its busy neighbor.

Vietnam travel would not be perfect without the stunning view of Marbel mountain behind.

My Khe, however, is crowded, while Non Nuoc is more peaceful for those who want to avoid the bustle and spend a relaxing day at the beach.

Both these as well as other beaches you can reach there are many cafes as well as seafood restaurants on the shore.

Whether you’re into surfing or yoga, or just soaking up the sun, you can find it all here at Da Nang’s many beaches.

2. An Bang Beach, Hoi An

In addition to its UNESCO-designated Old Town, Hoi An offered what felt like a slice of paradise: An Bang Beach, which was a short bike ride from the town center.

I came in the early morning, the beach was almost empty except for a few fishermen throwing out their nets.

The warm sand between my toes, the coolness of the ocean wind, the gentle waves crashing on the shore recognized me as if I belonged.

What sets An Bang Beach apart is the lack of commercialization of other Vietnamese beaches.

The locals are friendly, and there are a few rustic beachfront cafes that serve up fresh seafood or a chilled coconut.

My afternoons were spent lounging under umbrellas, reading and taking dips in the calm waters.

And if you’re looking for a place to relax that’s a short distance from Hoi An, An Bang Beach is a fantastic relaxed beach destination.

3. Cua Dai Beach, Hoi An

Just a 10-minute drive away from An Bang is Cua Dai Beach, another pearl on Hoi An’s coastal string.

Once, Cua Dai was a pristine beach, now built up in recent years with high end resorts and hotels that stretch along the coast.

Yet it still has its charm, with a broad stretch of soft sand, watery blue as crystal and a passing fishing boat now and then out to sea.

On my visit, it was just the right place for a leisurely afternoon. The water was warm, and the beach was not overrun.

And while An Bang had a more laid-back vibe, Cua Dai felt a bit more developed, with gentle amenities like beach bars and restaurants serving everything from fresh seafood to tropical cocktails.

It’s a perfect setting if you want a balance of quiet time spent by the sea and convenient access to modern comforts.

4. Lang Co Beach

10 The Best Beach Spots Along the Central Vietnamese Coast: Lang Co Beach: an unspoiled gem located very close to the renowned Hai Van Pass, and just the kind of place you’d think to see in a postcard.

Nestled between a lush green mountain range on one side and the turquoise sea on the other, Lang Co is a beach of startling beauty, still just off the radar of mass tourism.

I remember driving up through the winding mountain roads of Hai Van Pass, the mist rolling in and the views opening up as if they were a figment of my imagination.

Lang Co Beach, however, was my first wowser of a beach. The sand was powdery and the water calm, ideal for a quiet swim or a boat ride.

Although relatively near Da Nang and Hue, the beach felt isolated, so it was a perfect destination for those who needed to indulge in peace in its purest form.

On the other hand, if you want a very peaceful getaway, head to Lang Co Beach. It’s not overdeveloped with resorts and tourist activities, and the surrounding area is still largely undeveloped, giving it a timeless, unspoiled quality.

5. Beaches in Quy Nhon: Ky Co & Bai Xep

Quy Nhon is one of those fledging destinations that travelers are just starting to appreciate, still retaining some charm and authenticity.

One of the highlights of my trip was visiting Ky Co Beach on a island located off the coast.

The water was clear like crystal, with coral reefs visible underneath as soft, powdery sand crunched underfoot. The island has remained relatively undeveloped, allowing for a peaceful day away from it all.

A short boat ride from Ky Co, Bai Xep Beach is where I spent an unforgettable day exploring the local fishing village and eating the freshest seafood I have ever tasted.

Bai Xep is the kind of place where time slips away and you lose track of everything aside from the sound of the waves and the scent of sea breeze.

The beach is still little known to most overseas visitors, so you’ll probably have it mostly to yourself.

If you’re searching for beautiful beaches and a taste of unspoiled Vietnam, look no further than Quy Nhon.

The coastal beauty here is stunning, unlike any other, and the serenity also cannot be compared.

6. Phu Yen: Bai Xep & Bai Mon

Travelling onwards down the coast, Phu Yen is another unappreciated slice of beach paradise.

Bai Xep, which I discovered while driving along the coast, combines magnificent rocky formations and sandy beaches.

The water was placid and shallow, inviting you to take a swim or walk along the beach for hours.

Traveling a bit farther: Bai Mon, a wild, remote beach a bit of a hidden oasis. Set among steep hills and lush forests, Bai Mon has an isolation that is hard to find in much of the world.

I trekked down the thick jungle to the beach, and as I arrived at the shore, it seemed as if I had stumbled upon a secret. Nice and quiet this beach is a true nature lovers paradise.

Phu Yen’s beaches are for those who want to step off the beaten path and experience nature at a deeper level.

The area isn’t as developed as others, but that’s what makes it so unique.

7. Nha Trang Beaches

10 The Best Beach Spots Along the Central Vietnamese Coast: Nha Trang is one of the hottest beach destinations in Vietnam, as you might imagine.

The city has a lively atmosphere with lots on offer, but also allows access to gorgeous beaches.

Tran Phu Beach, the main stretch in Nha Trang, is lined with resorts and busy cafes, making it a good spot for anyone who wants a beach with vibe.

But if you prefer something with less action, head a bit further out to Bai Dai Beach.

Located about 20 kilometers outside of the city, Bai Dai provides a somewhat quieter experience, with less people and cleaner waters.

The nearby mountains in the background further add to a tranquillity I spent a few hours swimming and lounging under a beach umbrella at this beach.

Nha Trang has everything you could want whether you want to dive, parasail or just relax.

That is the reason it is one of the best places for a beach vacation in Vietnam is because of the combination of the urban life and the beach life here.

8. Ho Coc Beach, Ba Ria-Vung Tau

Far from Ho Chi Minh City with only a couple of hours of traveling, Ho Coc Beach is ideal for short breaks.

The beach is lovely, with spotless sands and crystal clear waters, but not flooded with travelers.

The surrounding area is relatively undeveloped, so you’ll experience a taste of Vietnam’s natural beauty, away from the pulsing cities.

I traveled to Ho Coc Beach on a weekend getaway, and it was like a retreat.

Only a handful of small resorts line the beach, so it never feels overcrowded.

Slightly further to the south, was a quieter area with calm waters, perfectly suitable for a swim, so I stayed there for the day and enjoyed soaking up the peace and tranquillity of my surroundings.

Ho Coc Beach is one of the best options if you want a pristine beach near Ho Chi Minh City.

9. Cam Ranh Bay

Cam Ranh Bay, in Khanh Hoa Province, is already famous for its clear, calm waters, and is increasing its reputation as a luxury resort destination.

The natural beauty of the bay is unsurpassed, with unspoiled beaches and sea abundance.

I went to Bai Dai Beach here, where the water was warm and the sand fine. Luxury resorts have also sprung up in the area, making it an ideal destination for relaxation and top-notch amenities.

In Cam Ranh Bay, we were able to partake in popular scuba diving and snorkeling and got to see colorful coral reefs and tropical fish.

For beach lovers seeking both peace and luxury, Cam Ranh Bay is a place to be.

10. Con Dao Islands

10 The Best Beach Spots Along the Central Vietnamese Coast: Last but not least, there are the Con Dao Islands a group of islands off Vietnam’s southern coast with some of the country’s least combed and least pollution-impacted shorelines.

Con Son, the main island in the area, is a quiet paradise embraced by clear waters, beautiful coral reefs and a rich history.

The most famous beach of Con Son is Dam Trau beach, a beautiful crescent-shaped beach with smooth sand beach and clear water.

But for visitors seeking solitude, there are numerous secluded coves around the island to discover.

The features that make the Con Dao Islands special are both natural beauty with historical significance when the islands were a notorious prison system during the French colonial period.

So if you’re looking for good history, being at one with nature or just want a quiet sanctuary, the Con Dao Islands have much to offer.

Spanning the bustling coastlines of Da Nang and Nha Trang to the tranquil retreats of Lang Co and Phu Yen, these beaches offer a kaleidoscope of adventures, capturing the breathtaking nature and diverse culture of this rich territory from one end to the other.
